招标，尤其在政府投建的项目和大公司中最常见，不知饲料企业为何也搞招标？
饲料厂招标的目的不外乎这几个：（1）切断采购人员吃回扣的利益链条，获得低价格和更广的选择范围；（2）可能仅是一场秀，提高知名度；（3）“因为我很大，所以我招标”。即使是企业招标，类似中标内定也很常见，多数只是陪标，起初大家都摩拳擦掌应标，想一显身手，最终，大多铩羽而归。
饲料厂招标为何会把好产品拒之门外？这是由不当的招标采购制度决定的。招标采购的目的是获得性价比最好的产品，像类似招标价第二低价者得的招标制度，根本招不到好产品。
往往低价与低质联系在一起，越是好产品，价格会越高。有些产品的检测需要较高的技术要求，例如酶制剂，在招标公告上要求木聚糖活性≥100万单位/Kg，投标产品来了，由于许多饲料企业缺乏必要的检测手段，只能看供应商提供的资料，然而，为了中标，供应商出于价格的压力，降低产品质量成为必然。对于技术含量高、检测方法复杂的产品，一味的追求低价格，肯定招不到好产品。
